Liquid mixture of chemical substances (THPMI)
The product is a liquid mixture primarily composed of tetrahydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethylindane (THPMI, 63%), with hexahydro- (34%) and pentamethylindane (3%), obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of PMI. It is used without prior purification as a chemical intermediate for the synthesis of (rac)-6,7-Dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone (DPMI), intended for industrial use. Main use: organic intermediate for the chemical transformation industry (oxidation to indanone). Regulatory particularities: probable classification under heading 3824 (chemical preparations of the chemical or allied industries, not elsewhere specified or included), verification required on REACH status (registration/safety), possible requirements on CLP labelling (classification, labelling, packaging) and the transport of dangerous chemical substances, according to physico-chemical properties.
