Mechanical seal faces used in various industrial applications to prevent leakage between rotating and stationary parts. These seal faces are crafted from Tungsten Carbide due to properties allowing for thermal conductivity, resistance to wear and corrosion. They are ring shaped, of a graphite colour packaged sufficiently to protect them from damage when shipping. Sizes can be from 35mm to 200mm They are used specifically in a mechanical seal to prevent leakage. Due to the bespoke design, they can only ever be used in a mechanical seal. Tungsten Carbide. Tungsten carbide is formed by mixing tungsten and carbon powders, this is then carbonised in a furnace, the tungsten carbon powder is the compacted in desired face shape in accordance with our drawings which is then sintered. They are specifically designed and selected for the application. The rings are very light in weight due to their low density. It also important to note, due to their design, they do not have another use except within a mechanical seal.

Classification has been determined in accordance with the following:- General Interpretative Rules (GIR)s: GIR 1 has been used to classify this product by the terms of heading 8484 - Gaskets and similar joints of metal sheeting combined with other material or of two or more layers of metal; sets or assortments of gaskets and similar joints, dissimilar in composition, put up in pouches, envelopes or similar packings; mechanical seals GIR 6 has been used to classify the goods to sub-heading 8484.20 – Mechanical seals Harmonised Standard Explanatory Notes (HSENs) to heading 8484 – Part C refers Considered classification to heading 8413 which covers pumps for liquids and parts therefor. Excluded from this heading as the goods are intended for various industrial applications and not specifically used as parts of pumps, therefore classified as parts of general use
