To qualify for the CETA preferential rate on HS 8501-8502, products must satisfy the origin rule of type change of tariff heading (CTH). A tolerance of 10% of the ex-works value applies.
A change from any other heading, except from heading 8503.
A change from within any one of these heading or heading 8503, whether or not there is also a change from any other heading, provided that the value of non-originating materials classified in the same heading as the final product or heading 8503 does not exceed 50% of the transaction value or ex-works price of the product.
