LENS CASE: FOR INTRA OCULAR LENS (IOL) THE LENS CASE IS MOLDED USING BASELL PD702 POLYPROPYLENE AND IS OF A CIRCULAR SHAPE, APPROXIMATELY 1.75 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE LENS CASE CONTAINING THE IOL IS THEN PLACED IN A PEEL POUCH AND TRANSPORTED FOR STERILISATION.
PEEL POUCH: EACH PRE-STERILISED INTRA OCULAR LENS (IOL) IS PLACED IN A LENS CASE WHICH IS THEN PLACED WITHIN A PEEL POUCH. THE PEEL POUCH IS APPROX. 6 INCHES IN LENGTH AND 3/34 INCHES IN WIDTH. THE PEEL POUCH IS MADE FROM: TYVEK (DUPONT 1073B UNCOATED TYVEK) FOR THE BACK PART & IT HAS A CLEAR FRONT MADE FROM POLYESTER/POLYETHYLENE LOW DENSITY HEAT SEAL COATED FILM. THE IOL IS TRANSPORTED FOR STERILISATION IN THE LENS CASE IN THE PEEL POUCH. ON COMPLETION OF STERILISATION, THE IOL WITHIN THE PEEL POUCH IS FURTHER PACKAGED & LABELLED AND THEN DISTRIBUTED.

THE REELER WILL BE LOCATED ON SURFACE OR OFFSHORE PLATFORM AND IS DESIGNED FOR ZONE 1, MEANING IT IS EXPLOSION PROOF. THE STRUCTURE DESIGN IS 4510 (L) X 3200 (W) X 4304 (H) METERS AND IS DUAL CERTIFIED. WEIGHT APPROX. 28.500KG. THE REELER IS MANUFACTURED WITH A LIFT FRAME, MANUFACTURED USING PLATE SECTIONS AND HOLLOW SECTIONS. THE REELER FRAME IS DESIGNED TO HOLD A DRUM IN THE CENTRE THAT IS USED TO SPOOL THE UMBILICAL TO DESIRED LOCATION IN THE SUBSEA TOOLSTRING. THE REELER IS TRANSPORTED USING 4 POINT LIFTING SLINGS OR FORK LIFT PALLETS, TO ALLOW MOVEMENT. THE REELER IS DESIGNED TO ACCEPT ELECTRIC POWER VIA A POWERPACK (NOT INCLUDED IN BTI). THIS CONTROLS THE REELER VIA A REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM, WHICH CONTROLS DIRECTION, SPEED, LINE UP/DOWN AND EMERGENCY STOP. THE REELER CONTAINS NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL TERMINALS AND STAINLESS STEEL JUNCTION BOXES THAT CAN BE CONNECTED TO THE UMBILICAL, WHICH IS CONNECTED TO SUBSEA TOOLS. THE REELER CAN ALSO BE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE RIGS POWER SUPPLY FROM A 3 PHASE POWER CABLE TO THE RIG JUNCTION BOX. THE REELER CONTAINS HYDRAULICS WHICH ARE CONTROLLED FROM A PANEL ON THE SIDE OF THE REELER FRAME, THAT CONTROLS THE DRUM GEAR FROM HIGH TORQUE LOW SPEED HYDRAULIC MOTOR. IN THE HYDRAULICS ARE RELIEF VALVES AND SOLENOID VALVES WHICH PREVENT OPERATIVE FAILURE BY CHANGING THE SAFE MODE, TO ENSURE SUBSEA TOOLSTRING IS NOT DAMAGED DURING OPERATIONS.
