Produsul reprezinta un cablu de comunicatie de tip ASU 4F sau ASU 12F care contine patru, respectiv 12 fibre optice de 125um, neizolate individual. Este un cablu cu sectiunea de aproximativ 7-8 mm, de culoare neagra. Produsul este compus astfel: fibre optice grupate intr-o izolatie comuna, fibre de plastic FRP, gel, compus de umplere (filling compound), camasa exterioara din polietilena PE. Cablul se utilizeaza pentru transmiterea de informatii (imagini, sunete, date, etc.) folosind lumina care este trasmisa pe mai multe lungimi de unda in interiorul fibrelor optice. Cablul este rulat pe tambur din lemn.
