Hypotube. Seamless, hollow, stainless-steel tube cut to length and curved at one end. It is gold-plated at one end to ensure conductivity and corrosion resistance. It is an essential component of a medical device used for endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms. A pulse runs through the hypotube, melts a micro-polymer joint and detaches a coil that occludes the aneurysm. A longitudinal slot on the gold-plated end of the hypotube allows for a green lead wire to exit mid-shaft while a yellow wire runs full length, forming the pulse path. This slot allows the wires to interface with a handheld controller at different locations. The outer diameter profile of the hypotube has different sizes in the distal, mid and proximal positions. It ensures precise control of the catheter, enabling it to navigate through the body safely and effectively. The pull ring is anchored within the polymer jacket at the distal end, the holes on the ring allow polymer to flow through when melted to increase the anchor force at the ring. The pull wires run through two lumens inside the device to the proximal end, which is the handle used to control/steer the articulation.
