AEO — Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)
AEO status is a label of trust issued by EU customs authorities to economic operators who meet strict criteria of reliability, compliance and security.
Status Types
- OAS-C (Customs Simplifications): provides access to simplifications of customs procedures
- OAS-S (Safety-Security): provides facilitation in terms of safety and security
- OEA-F (Full): combines the two statuses C and S
Obtaining criteria
The applicant must demonstrate a satisfactory customs compliance record, a reliable and traceable accounting system, financial solvency, professional skills and adequate safety and security standards.
Advantages
Fewer physical and documentary checks, priority treatment, access to simplifications (domiciled procedure, centralized customs clearance), mutual recognition with partner countries.
