Reference of UN/LOCODE codes for ports and airports used in international trade.
Ports and airports used in international trade are identified by the UN/LOCODE (United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations), a standardised system from the United Nations.
UN/LOCODE structure
Each UN/LOCODE is composed of 5 characters:

││ └── 3 letters identifying the location
│└──── ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code
└───── ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code- First 2 letters: ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code
- Next 3 letters: location identifier (usually derived from the name)

Usage in customs declarations
UN/LOCODE codes are used in the following fields of customs declarations:
- Box 27 of the SAD: place of loading
- Box 28 of the SAD: place of unloading
- ICS2 (Import Control System): expected place of arrival
- ECS (Export Control System): intended office of exit
- Transport documents: port of loading and unloading
