ASYCUDA / ASYCUDA
ASYCUDA (Automated Customs System) — or ASYCUDA in English (Automated System for Customs Data) — is a customs management computer system developed by UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development).
Global deployment
ASYCUDA is used in more than 100 countries and territories. It is the standard customs clearance system for almost all French-speaking African countries: Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, DRC, Madagascar, Haiti, etc.
Versions
- ASYCUDA++: client-server version, still in use in certain countries
- ASYCUDAWorld: new generation web version, with one-stop shop modules, risk management and electronic signature
Features
ASYCUDA covers the entire customs process: submission of manifests, entry of customs declarations, selectivity and risk analysis, liquidation of duties and taxes, management of economic regimes and foreign trade statistics.
Impact
The Gambia saw a 23% increase in customs revenue after deploying ASYCUDAWorld. The system contributes to the modernization, transparency and efficiency of customs administrations.
