FFKM (Perfluoro elastomer) O-rings. These are high-performance sealing components designed for extreme chemical and temperature resistance. They are a specialised type of elastomeric seal used in demanding industrial applications, particularly within mechanical seals for pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment. They come in various standard and custom sizes, typically following AS568, ISO 3601, or other industrial specifications. Sizes range from a few millimetres in inner diameter to larger rings used in industrial applications. They are fluorinated elastomer with similar properties to PTFE (Teflon) but with elastic characteristics. The material consists of carbon-fluorine bonds, providing exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures and harsh chemicals, including strong acids, solvents, and hydrocarbons. They come in various standard and custom sizes, typically following AS568, ISO 3601, or other industrial specifications. They are ring shaped, of a graphite colour packaged sufficiently to protect them from damage when shipping. Sizes can be from 35mm to 200mm They are used specifically in a mechanical seal to prevent leakage. Due to the bespoke design, they can only ever be used in a mechanical seal. Tungsten Carbide. Tungsten carbide is formed by mixing tungsten and carbon powders, this is then carbonised in a furnace, the tungsten carbon powder is the compacted in desired face shape in accordance with our drawings which is then sintered. They are specifically designed and selected for the application. The rings are very light in weight due to their low density. It also important to note, due to their design, they do not have another use except within a mechanical seal.

They are made of sintered silicon, sintering process involves compacting silicon carbide powder under high temperature and pressure to create a dense, durable material with a fine, uniform microstructure. They are then machined to the drawing requirement. They are specifically designed and selected for the application. The rings are very light in weight due to their low density. It also important to note, due to their design, they do not have another use except within a mechanical seal.

THE PRODUCTS CLASSES AS CARBON GRAPHITE MECHANICAL SEAL PARTS. A MECHANICAL SEAL HAS 2 FACES, ONE THAT IS CALLED THE STATIONARY OR SEAT FACE, AND IS FITTED INTO A PUMP CASING OR HOUSING, THE OTHER IS CALLED THE ROTARY FACE, AND IS SEALED ONTO THE PUMP'S ROTATING SHAFT, TYPICALLY WITH A RUBBER SEALING PART, LIKE A MOULDED BELLOWS OR AN O-RING, AND SOME METAL PARTS TO HOLD THE ROTARY AND RUBBER PARTS TOGETHER, AND A METAL SPRING TO PRESS THE ROTARY AGAINST THE SEAT WHEN THE SEAL IS INSTALLED. MECHANICAL SEAL FACES GO THROUGH A PROCESS CALLED 'LAPPING' TO MAKE THEM EXTREMELY FLAT ON THEIR CONTACT SURFACES, AND TO PUT IT SIMPLY THEY WORK BY THE PROCESS OF THESE VERY FLAT FACES BEING PUSHED TOGETHER; THE FLATNESS MEANS THAT THERE ARE NO GAPS WHERE FLUID CAN GET THOUGH WHEN THE FACES ARE TOGETHER. THE ROTARY FACE IS PUSHED UP AGAINST THE STATIONARY FACE, AND EVEN THOUGH THE ROTARY IS TURNING, AND THE ROTARY FACE REVOLVES AGAINST THE STATIONARY FACE, THE ROTATING SHAFT IS MADE FLUID-TIGHT. THESE CARBON PRODUCTS ARE MECHANICAL SEAL FACES - THEY ARE NOT THE COMPLETE SEAL, THEY ARE A PART OF ONE. THEY ARE NOT BEARINGS, ALTHOUGH IMPREGNATED CARBON BEARINGS DO EXIST, AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE BENEFICIAL SELF-LUBRICATION PROPERTIES OF THE MATERIAL. BUT WHILE A CARBON FACE AND A CARBON BEARING MIGHT LOOK SIMILAR TO THE UNTRAINED EYE, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, AND THEY DO NOT SERVE THE SAME PURPOSE. BUT BOTH MECHANICAL SEALS (OFTEN WITH CARBON FACES IN THEM) AND BEARINGS ARE BOTH NECESSARY ITEMS ON A ROTARY PUMP.
