Export control
Set of regulations aimed at regulating the export of sensitive goods for security reasons.
Export control
Export control refers to all the regulations and procedures that govern the export of sensitive goods, software and technologies for reasons of national and international security.
Scope
Controls cover dual-use goods, war and weapons materials, cultural goods, certain chemicals and pharmaceuticals and surveillance technologies.
Internal Compliance Program (ICP)
Companies exporting sensitive goods must have an internal compliance program in place including management commitment, staff training, screening procedures and record keeping.
Extraterritoriality
European companies should also be mindful of foreign regulations, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and ITAR, which may apply to goods containing U.S. components.
