Customs value declaration (DV1)
The DV1 is a form which accompanies the customs import declaration and which details the elements constituting the declared customs value.
Content
The DV1 specifies the price paid, the conditions of sale, the links between buyer and seller, value adjustments (royalties, transport costs, insurance) and payment conditions.
Obligation
DV1 is mandatory for imports whose value exceeds a certain threshold (generally EUR 20,000 per shipment). It may be required for lower amounts if requested by customs.
Importance
The DV1 is a key document for customs controls. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in delays, in-depth inspections or sanctions.
