Single Administrative Document (DAU)
Standardized form used in the EU for customs declarations for import, export and transit.
Single Administrative Document (DAU)
The DAU (in English SAD — Single Administrative Document) is the standardized form used in the European Union and the countries of the Common Transit Convention to establish customs declarations.
Structure
The DAU has 8 sheets used for different operations: export, transit and import. It is identified by a unique MRN (Movement Reference Number).
Main content
The DAU lists information on the sender and recipient, tariff classification, origin, customs value, applicable duties and taxes, and the customs procedure requested.
Evolution
With the CDU program and the progressive dematerialization of procedures, the paper DAU is replaced by electronic declarations. The format is evolving with the CDMS system and new customs IT systems.
