DELTA (French customs system)
The French customs IT system (Dedouanement en Ligne par Traitement Automatise) for filing and processing customs declarations.
DELTA (Dedouanement en Ligne par Traitement Automatise) is the French customs IT system for electronic processing of customs declarations. It comprises several modules:
- DELTA-G (Guichet): web interface for direct declaration filing by operators
- DELTA-D (Dedouanement): processing of import and export declarations
- DELTA-T (Transit): national transit management (connected to NCTS for Community transit)
- DELTA-C (Connexion): automated data exchange between operator systems and customs (EDI)
The system is accessible via the Pro.Douane portal of the DGDDI (Direction Generale des Douanes et Droits Indirects). Operators must have an EORI number and authorisation.
DELTA is being progressively modernised under the SI-Douane programme to integrate UCC requirements and new trans-European systems.
Key features include centralised clearance (ability to clear goods at a single office for goods arriving at different offices), dematerialisation of accompanying documents and real-time tracking of operations.
