EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification)
Unique identification number of economic operators for all their customs operations in the EU.
EORI — Economic Operators Registration and Identification
The EORI number is a unique identifier assigned to economic operators (companies and individuals) who carry out customs operations in the European Union.
Obligation
Any operator established in the EU must have an EORI number to carry out customs operations (import, export, transit). Non-EU operators must obtain one if they file declarations in the EU.
Structure
The EORI number is composed of the country code of the Member State of registration followed by a unique identifier (often the SIRET number in France). Example: FR12345678901234.
Registration
In France, the EORI request is made to the DGDDI (Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Duties) via the online customs portal.
Database
All EORI numbers are stored in a searchable European database, allowing trading partners to check the validity of a number.
