Cargo Manifest
The loading manifest is a summary document which lists all the goods loaded on board a means of transport (ship, plane, truck) for a given journey.
Content
The manifest lists for each shipment the bill of lading or LTA number, the sender and recipient, the summary description of the goods, the number of packages, the weight and volume, the ports/airports of loading and unloading.
Regulatory obligation
The carrier must present the manifest to customs authorities upon arrival of the means of transport. By sea, it must be filed within 24 hours of the ship's arrival. It serves as the basis for the summary declaration.
Link with security declarations
Manifest data feeds entry summary declarations (ENS) as part of the ICS2 system. Carriers must transmit this data in advance.
Electronic Manifest
The dematerialization of the manifesto is underway in most countries. In France, maritime manifests are transmitted electronically via the CI5 system (cargo information system).
