Approved exporter number
Authorization allowing an exporter to self-certify the preferential origin of its goods on invoice.
Approved exporter number
The approved exporter number is an authorization issued by customs allowing an exporter to make declarations of origin on invoice without limitation of value.
Advantage
Without approved exporter status, origin declarations on invoice are only possible for shipments whose value does not exceed EUR 6,000.
Conditions
The exporter must demonstrate that he regularly exports products benefiting from preferential origin and that he has stock records to prove the origin.
Evolution towards REX
The approved exporter status is gradually being replaced by the REX system under the most recent EU trade agreements.
Practical use
The number is mentioned in the original invoice declaration and allows the customer to obtain the preferential rate in the country of destination.
