A device (so-called ‘wireless charging plate’) consisting of an adapter with a cable of a length of approximately 180 cm and a charging plate. The cable has a connector to connect to the charging plate. The plate is circular shaped with a height of approximately 8 mm, a diameter of approximately 80 mm and a weight of 51 g. The adapter converts (rectifies) alternating current (AC — 240V) into direct current (DC — 12V) and transfers this to the plate. In the plate this DC is converted (inverted) i

Classification is determined by general rules (GIR) 1, 3(c) and 6 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature and by the wording of CN codes 8504 , 8504 40 and 8504 40 90 . The functions of the device (current rectifying, inverting, and converting into an electromagnetic field) are covered by subheading 8504 40. Classification under subheading 8504 50 is thus excluded. Classification under CN code 8504 40 30 as static converters of a kind used with telecommunication apparatus, automatic data- processing machines and units thereof is excluded as the AC/DC adapter is designed to provide current to a variety of electrical apparatus. As neither current rectifying, inversion nor conversion into an electromagnetic field gives the device its essential character it has to be classified applying GIR 3(c). Consequently, the device is to be classified under CN code 8504 40 90 as other static converters. Documented CN 2026 code: 85044095, 8504, 85044030. Commission 2026 transposition note: 8504 40 95 Modification of structure of heading 8504. The following paragraph is not relevant due to the change of the structure of the heading: Classification under CN code 8504 40 30 as static converters of a kind used with telecommunication apparatus, automatic data- processing machines and units thereof is excluded as the AC/DC adapter is designed to provide current to a variety of electrical apparatus.

An article comprising electronic components; a starter, an actuator, a regulator and a stop unit (so-called ‘electronic control unit (ECU)’) contained in a rectangular housing of aluminium with measurements of 98 × 74 × 20 mm and a weight of 160 g. The article supplies power to the xenon headlights of motor vehicles. When the headlights are turned on the article firstly converts direct current (DC) 12 V from the on-board electrical system into 1 200 V DC and transmits it to the igniter (not pres

Classification is determined by general rules 1, 3 (c) and 6 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature and by the wording of CN codes 8504 , 8504 40 and 8504 40 90 . Classification as a control unit under heading 8537 is excluded, since the article is designed to convert current from DC 12 V into DC 1 200 V and to convert DC 12 V into AC 85 V, which are functions covered by heading 8504 . As neither of the functions is considered to be the principal function of the apparatus within the meaning of note 3 to section XVI, it is to be classified under the subheading that occurs last in numerical order. The article is therefore to be classified under CN code 8504 40 90 as other static converters. Documented CN 2026 code: 85044095, 8504. Commission 2026 transposition note: 8504 40 95 Modification of structure of heading 8504.

A plastic sheet with dimensions of 62 cm × 52 cm × 150 μm containing 24 antennae. Each antenna is constituted of copper wires in the form of windings of a planar rectangular shape and is connected with two interface pads. The antennae are presented in an array of 8 × 3 and are glued alongside each other on the plastic sheet. The plastic sheet does not contain electronic chips. The antennae are presented to be used as parts of smart cards.

Classification is determined by general rules 1 and 6 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature, note 2(a) to Section XVI and by the wording of CN codes 8504, 8504 50 and 8504 50 95. As the antennae are constituted only of windings acting as inductors, they fall in heading 8504 as inductors. Consequently, classification under heading 8548 as parts not specified or included elsewhere in Chapter 85 is excluded. The article is therefore to be classified under CN code 8504 50 95 as other inductors. Documented CN 2026 code: 85045000, 8504. Commission 2026 transposition note: 8504 50 00 Modification of structure of heading 8504.

Charger of the direct-current-converter type (so-called ‘universal dual-port car charger’) comprising a car cigarette adapter, two USB interfaces and a light indicator. The charger has a voltage input of 12 V DC, a voltage output of 5 V DC and a current output of 500 mA or 2 × 250 mA. The charger is used for supplying power to charge various apparatus, such as mobile phones, PDA, GPS, cameras, MP3- and MP4-players.

Classification is determined by General Rules 1 and 6 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature and by the wording of CN codes 8504, 8504 40 and 8504 40 90. The product is a static converter of the direct current converter type (see also the HS Explanatory Notes to heading 8504, (II), point (D)). The charger can be used for charging a variety of apparatus, for example, telecommunication apparatus, automatic data-processing machines, audio/video recording or reproducing apparatus and radio navigational aid apparatus. Classification under CN code 8504 40 30 as static converters of a kind used with telecommunication apparatus, automatic data- processing machines and units thereof is therefore excluded. The charger is therefore to be classified under CN code 8504 40 90 as other static converters. Documented CN 2026 code: 85044095, 8504, 85044030. Commission 2026 transposition note: 8504 40 95 Modification of structure of heading 8504 The following paragraph is not relevant due to the change of the structure of the heading: “Classification under CN code 8504 40 30 as static converters of a kind used with telecommunication apparatus, automatic data-processing machines and units thereof is therefore excluded.”

Article (so-called ‘common mode choke’) with dimensions of approximately 3 × 3 × 2 cm (including the base plate), consisting of two coils of insulated copper wire wound on a circular ferrite core, with a ratio of 1:1. The differential mode current (signal), flowing in opposite directions through the coils, creates equal and opposite magnetic fields which cancel each other out. This results in the article presenting zero impedance to the differential mode current, which passes through unaltered.

Classification is determined by General Rules 1 and 6 for the interpretation of the Combined Nomenclature and by the wording of CN codes 8504, 8504 50 and 8504 50 95. Classification under subheading 8504 31 as a transformer is excluded, as although the construction of the article is that of a transformer, it cannot transform an alternating current into a different alternating current. It only transfers alternating currents with a ratio of 1:1 (see also the Harmonised System Explanatory Notes to heading 8504). Given its function, the article constitutes an inductor of subheading 8504 50, as it is used to limit or prevent the flow of common mode current (interference) while leaving the flow of differential mode current (signal) unaltered. The article is therefore to be classified under CN code 8504 50 95 as an inductor. Documented CN 2026 code: 85045000, 8504. Commission 2026 transposition note: 8504 50 00 Modification of structure of heading 8504.
